Piergiuseppe Roncarolo
If you stop in Lignana and ask about the Roncarolo family, they’ll tell you that “they’ve always been here.” From the historic Cascina Camalia to Cascina Castello, in the heart of the village, where they moved in the 1960s, you’d always hear about the Roncarolo brothers, Piergiuseppe and Claudio, rice farmers by vocation.
In the 1970s, the family’s properties expanded to include new farms, located within a 20 km radius of Vercelli. Their father Giacomo was already dedicated to farming, and today Piergiuseppe continues his tireless work with his nephew Simone, his brother Claudio's son. Sadly, Claudio Roncarolo passed away prematurely, but everyone in the industry remembers him with affection and great esteem for his investments in quality and innovation that still bear his name today: Roncarolo, the first family of rice farmers to have believed in the founding of Ecorì.
